Rittenhouse Carol -Bramwell Tovey

The Rittenhouse Carol words and music by Bramwell Tovey

(Piano solo)

Santa is coming with gifts and toys,
Lots of presents for girls and boys,
Lots of music and lots of noise,
Lots of laughter and countless joys.
Let’s not forget about Bethlehem.
How the angels watched over Him.
The wondrous star and the Three Wise Men,
The night the Saviour was born.

The days were short, the nights were cold,
The Star in the East had been long foretold.
The Angel of the Lord came down
And glory shone all around.

Children enchanted by Christmas fun,
Joy in their hearts for everyone.
Families gathered in warmth and love,
Carols sung to the Lord above.
Never forget about Bethlehem,
How Mary and Joseph protected Him
With only the stable to shelter them,
The night the Saviour was born.

The winter was bitter, the stable cold
That wonderful, glorious night of old.
The Wise Men guided by the star
Had travelled to worship Him from afar.

Alleluia
Praise Him!

(Piano solo)

Never forget about Bethlehem,
How Mary and Joseph protected Him
With only the stable to shelter them
The night the Saviour was born.
