David Del Puerto - Composer Information

Born in Madrid (Spain) in 1964. He studies guitar with Alberto Potin, harmony with Jesús María Corral and composition with Francisco Guerrero and Luis de Pablo in Madrid.
From 1985, he takes part in many festivals and concert seasons: Almeida Festival '85 (London), 1989 season of the Ensemble InterContemporain (Paris), Festival d'Etéé '89 (Geneva), Middelburg festival '90 and '92 (Holland), Ars Musica Festival '92, '93 and '96 (Brussels), Alicante Festival '93, Focus! '93 (Juilliard School, New York), Takefu international Festival '93 (Japan), Spanish Arts Festival '94 (London), CDMC seasons in Madrid, Gaudeamus International Music Week (Amsterdam) '93,' 94 and '96, ENSEMS '95 and '97 (Valencia), Granada Festival '95, Festival Pontino '97, etc.
His music has been performed by several soloists, ensembles and orchestras, such as oboist Ernst Rombout, sopranos Maria Agricola, Sarah Leonard, Nicola Walker-Smith and Jannie Pranger, percussionists Miguel Bernat and Joséé Vincente, Quintetto Arnold (Milano), Quartet de bec Frullato (Barcelona), Ensemble Recherche (Freiburg), Ensemble InterContemporain (Paris), Xenakis Ensemble (Middleburg), Divertimento Ensemble (Milano), Champ d'Action (Antwerpen),Teatre Lliure (Barcelona), Grupo Koan (Madrid), Nederlands Kaamer Koor (Amsterdam), Orchestre Symphonique du Rhin-Mulhouse, Orquesta Nacional de Españña, etc……conducted by Diego Masson, Luca Pfaff, José Ramón Encinar, Sandro Gorli, Celso Antunes, Josep Pons and others.
He has received commissions from several institutions and performers, such as Ensemble InterContemporain, CDMC-INAEM (Spain), Orquesta Nacional de Españña, fundacion Juan March, Geneva City Hall, Ars Musica Festival.
Ha has given lectures about his music and taken part in forum discussions in Madrid, Amsterdam, Brussels, Middleburg, Latina and Valencia, and he has given classes for composition students invited by Conservatories of Holland and Spain.
In 1993 his Oboe Concerto won the Gaudeamus Prize, and in the same year he received the prize "El Ojo Crìtico" of the Spanish National Broadcasting.
He has recently finished a Violin Concerto to be premiered in USA by soloist Manuel Guillén and the Madison University Orchestra.
